Bloomsburg Memorial Elementary School was built in 1952 and named to honor the sons and daughters who lost their lives in our country’s wars.  It was built to consolidate the Third Street and Fifth Street schools.  The school was newly renovated in 2004.  The facility is located at 500 Market Street, close to the center of town.   The two-story structure contains 24 homerooms, reading rooms, library, art room, music room, and multi-purpose room, as well as a nurse’s suite, offices, and a Family Center.  Currently we have four classes at each grade level, K-5. Our class sizes range from 15 to 22 students per class.  Each classroom is equipped with computers, internet access, and an interactive projection system.    Students participate in art, music, library, physical education and guidance at least one day per six-day cycle.  All students in fourth grade and fifth grade participate in chorus.  Students in fifth grade have the option to participate in instrumental music.  Student support services include Title I Reading, Enrichment, Learning Support, Speech and Language, and Life Skills.  Additional student support services are provided by an occupational therapist, a physical therapist, and a vision and hearing therapist.
